What is browlift?
If you’re unhappy with hanging or excess upper eyelid skin, it has little to do with your eyes. It’s true cause is that your brow has dropped. This is natural and comes with ageing. A browlift reshapes a brow and forehead that has become droopy over time.
Your initial consultation will focus on correctly diagnosing the cause and discussing a plan to rejuvenate your brow and forehead.
The surgery is done under general anesthetic over 2 to 3 hours and requires no overnight stay.
An incision is made across the top of the scalp from ear to ear. This can be accomplished without shaving or cutting the hair. The brow is reached by dissecting underneath the forehead. The frowning muscles are often excised at the same time, as well as excess scalp.
Here are some things to expect after your surgery:
- A compression garment is worn for 48-72 hours and is then changed daily for the first week.
- Bruising and swelling should subside within two weeks.
- Surgical stapes are removed after the second week.
- Patients typically require 2 weeks of downtime.
