With its current popularity, everyone’s talking about Botox®. Botox® is an injectable liquid used for the purposes of temporarily paralyzing selective muscles responsible for creating wrinkles. It’s important to remember that wrinkles present without animating our faces cannot be treated with Botox®. Only wrinkles that form during muscle contraction can be improved with Botox®.
Common areas of use are:
- The lower forehead to prevent the appearance of frowning and the vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows.
- the upper forehead to prevent the horizontal wrinkles of the forehead that occur when lifting your eyebrows.
- the area outside the eyes (“crows feet”) to prevent the wrinkles that occur on the outside of the eyes when squinting.
Botox® will typically take 3-4 days to take full effect and last 3 to 6 months.
